New research indicates that one of the best ways to determine if you’re going to get a little action on a first date is to ask whether or not your prospective partner likes to have a few pints down at the pub.
While it may not seem too much of a surprise that men who enjoy drinking beer are around 60 per cent more likely to hop into bed at a moment’s notice, the research study – undertaken by a major online dating site – found that women who enjoy the taste of beer are just as likely to do the same as their male counterparts. Casual sex seems to be synonymous with a proclivity to drink beer, the dating website’s research found, based on the analysis of the interactions and profiles of millions of its members.
The website’s blog, which published the research findings, reported that asking if your date enjoys the taste of beer is the absolute best way to predict if they re willing to have an intimate encounter on the first date. This is independent of a survey respondent’s sexual orientation or gender, and is the only question that correlated meaningfully with women, the blog reported.
Some dating experts say that the results in regards to female promiscuity are surprising. Alcohol is notorious for its ability to lower inhibitions, which may contribute to women making the decision to have sex on the first date; no one really seemed surprised that 60 per cent of men would do so. If anything, experts say they are surprised the 60 per cent figure for men wasn’t even higher.
