After many complaints from the membership of a 60 plus dating site, police officers from the regional vice squad organised paid an early morning visit to a place in Dorking.
This occurred after an over 60s dating site called “GenteelMatureIntroductionAgency.com” was bought out by a well known newspaper owner, whose company is called the Grubby Growlers incorporated.
The current membership was outraged at the drastic changes made to the site which have been introduced since it had been taken over.
Agile widow, Edna, aged 65 but now retired, a resident of Tring and whose profile nickname referred to on the dating site as “Mrs Purvy”, stated that she was appalled by the changes as it used to be a really nice site to browse. She said that it had been flowing with men who had good knowledge of how to respect and attract a more mature woman. She says the site has now become quite obscene.
Another unhappy aged woman member, a retired photographer, who complained that she had been inundated with video chat requests from many British males in their fifties and sixties who were trying to play Leslie Grantham.
However, it is not only elderly female members who were annoyed by the changes.
A 70 plus Dorking inhabitant, Ernest Hodgkens, long time dating site member, suffered a near heart attack from shock when he looked at one woman’s profile.
A spokesperson representing ‘Grubby Growlers’ failed to comment on the complaints that had been made by the pensioners.
A quick glance at the new site before it was removed by the vice squad revealed new features that had been included, such as a place where the male membership could go about swapping their more elderly female friends for new dates from the Phillipines.
Another innovation was the Seniors’ events put on all throughout the country for speed dating. As one member said that for the membership to run around the country with a zimmer frame in tow, with false hips and a weak heart would be quite some comedy act.
