Dating sites contemplate their relationship navel

Some of the dating sites have set aside some time to contemplate working out compatibility regimes, but have discovered there is no simple formula.

In fact, judging the overall success of a relationship is dependent on various cultural and psychological facts, as well as gender and age.

In western societies, many people and particularly those age 25-40 years, who are the main surfers on online dating sites, view success as the happiness in a relationship, a significant wedding event and healthy offspring. However, marriages are less frequent today than they have ever been and divorce rates are so high that in a couple of decades on from now fifteen years will be considered a long time to sustain a marriage.

This amazing situation makes one wonder what has happened to compatibility. Research has indicated that if a couple both know what they expect to get from a relationship and they share the same opinions, then the success of a relationship will just naturally occur.

Similar patterns of thought are based around views on children, financial issues, taking on adventures and longevity. If one of the two individuals is very industrious, while the other just lamely limps through life, then the relationship has little chance of success.

For Daters who have different sociability characteristics, some differences may not matter and even the most successful ones, often are made up of partners who have differing levels of extraverted behaviour. Trouble could brew if one of the twosome is far more sociable than the other one as he or she will be far more interested in encountering new acquaintances, going to parties and will spending a lot of time talking to others while the quieter half will feel both left out and dominated.

Another significant feature is the level of empathy with a range of real worldly issues like donating one’s blood, recycling of waste material and an interest in participating in healthy activities such as sports. If the couple’s attitude towards mainstream issues differs markedly, then the relationship is unlikely to succeed in the long term, as there will be little that the two would have in common.

Dating sites are well aware of the issues of compatibility and try to design profile building in such a way that individuals have a good chance of selecting the right person for a long lasting relationship.
