More and more people over 60 are searching for love online

The Daily Mail has today highlighted the popularity of dating sites, even for those over 60.

It reported that a recent survey highlighted that more and more people over the age of 60 are signing up in search of love.

The founder of fifty.com, Charlotte Cory, said that most of their clients today come from the baby boomer generation. Her dating website is designed to attract those people who are seeking love in the later part of their loves.

She says that they may be individuals who are now divorced and women who do not want to be left out after their children have left home and they have more time for themselves.

Cory is quite adamant that having an intimate and healthy relationship over the age of 60 is what that age group wants.

A former 60-year-old flight attendant and model, Sue Shephard, has been on her own for more than nine years since she filed for divorce in 2002.

Sue resides in the Bolton area and owns an assets portfolio and a cleaning firm. Her daughters are in their mid twenties and are now independent, and has surfed several internet dating sites to seek out a partner.

She says about dating that one should never assume that there are any suitable men of her age out there. In fact, she says, there are very few. She says that men may not be available at that age unless they have met someone illicitly who they have decided to move in and develop the relationship with.

She does not think it is quite so easy for women to find a suitable man as, so often, men have a different view on what they are looking for in a relationship. She said she has had some near misses with some of her dating site encounters and warns people to be cautious when getting too close to someone they do not know well.
