Brandon Wade, the owner of a number of dating sites, often receives complaints about them for because they were just a bit too controversial for some people’s tastes. Even though the complaints are common, there is no doubt that the antics on his website are quite popular. New York University seems to be the main provider for student women for his site.
The website SeekingArrangement, is a dating site that links rich old men with poor, young women. The men are, of course just a load of sugar daddies, while the young women are called sugar babies.
The idea is that after being spoilt and showered with gifts, the sugar daddy and the sugar baby make a mutual arrangement using the dating site. This could be almost anything but definitely would not involve a long term affair.
It appears that a large number of New York residents are appalled because so many girls at New York University are enrolling in SeekingArrangement to finance their fees for their college courses. From Brandon’s viewpoint, this makes absolute sense.
He said that these college girls do actually find the opportunity to view the lives of others that they might not normally see by becoming a companion for a while for a lonely man, whether he was married or not, and neither has any intention of having a longer term relationship.
Wade himself was a Playboy fan and idolised the founder of the magazine, Hugh Hefner. He was never going to be able to match the success of such a magazine. However, he thought that he could somehow sell the sort of ideas that Playboy represented and that there would be a market for it. From this concept popped up the new adult dating site. It has obviously worked, as it now has nearly one million customers.
It seems that since its inauguration there will be lots of students emerging from the university who will owe absolutely nothing in fees and will have learnt possibly more than they ever wanted to know about the habits of rich, lonely, old men.
