Older daters are more likely to use real photos

Older individuals are more genuine than younger people when it comes to searching for love on an internet dating site, it has been revealed.

Research discovered that the grey generation is the greatest growth group of online dating sites.

And they are far less likely to tell lies about themselves in their search for a partner than younger people are, according to a recent study.

Whilst younger members are most likely to upload an appealing photograph of themselves and identify their sexual superiority and incredible social life, older people instead like to upload a photograph that is quite genuine and use milder language when describing themselves, like ‘active’ and ‘young at heart’. They were also far more likely to concentrate on seeking an honest companion to communicate with than a partner for a one off date.

And whilst many dating sites indicate whether members are seeking mates, casual dates or a long term relationship, many older singles would also prefer options like companionship to be made available.

There are now a few sites targeting the older generation, such as ukmaturedating.com.

Younger people are far more likely to use a false picture on a dating website.

It was also found that the language of an elderly person’s online profile had a different emphasis when writing descriptions of themselves and what they were seeking in a relationship. Phrases such as ‘good physical fitness’ and ‘good health’ were used more often to describe themselves and the person they were looking for.

Combining data collected on the philosophy of a large number of older singles, their general philosophy is that they are not interested in time wasters. They do not have much of an interest in playing games and they want to wrap up things at the earliest opportunity. If the right partner is out there then they want to get in quick.
