New online dating website offers holidays

If you are set on planning to take a holiday this coming year and want something that is different from the rest then there’s a new online dating website available to assist travellers to find just that.

canaryhop.com is an online website that links travellers looking for a memory packed holiday experience with local communities who will take on the role as hosts or tour guides in their respective city.

The online dating site offers the usual travel experiences from museum visits, to overland bicycle riding, to cooking classes, but also offers opportunities for those who are simply more adventurous.

“There are some quite normal average things, but we also have some original unique things as well,” site founder David Spratt told “9 NEWS”. “There’s an Alfred Hitchcock walking trip throughout London, a variety of fishing trips in Burma, so there’s a big range of things that are not on the well worn path. We’re really out to meet all kinds of tastes so we can offer activities for the complete range of individuals, from university kids to people of my parents’ age.”

This gives a chance for travellers to meet up with other like minded travellers who enjoy the same type of activities with the possibility of forming relationships into the long term.

Spratt says the guides in these places range from tour companies to locals who are really love where they live.
However, safety experts warn that travellers are agreeing to date and travel with strangers face to face who they may only have spoken to online and should be careful so that they keep themselves safe.

“The capability to go out and participate in these things is great,” Deputy Sheriff George Newell with the Orlando County Crime Protection Unit said. “It’s just not wandering blindfolded into it but making certain you have a sure way of escaping. You know those small safeguards.”
Newell, who is also a traveller, says it’s not just necessary for the traveller to be in possession of an itinerary but for friends or family to be given a copy too.
